Update on Chatel opening
I spoke to the operations manager at the Chatel lift company today. He told me that they are planning to open the Chatel runs from Pleine Dranse upwards this coming Saturday 20th December. The Pierre Longue Chairlift will operate for access to Pleine dranse from Pres La Joux. They will make a final decision on Friday.
If Chatel does not open on Saturday 20th
Currently there are lifts running in Avoriaz, therefore should Chatel not open we will run the lessons there. There is a transport implication, which is that we will need to drive around to Morzine to then access Avoriaz slopes.
If you have lessons booked and do not have transport, please contact me as we have put a bus company on standby, to provide transport. Please note that the return journey will cost between €20 and €25 per person per day.
The runs from Pleine Dranse upwards are very close to being viable so we will take each day as it comes, the weather forecast is colder with snowfall. This means that a combination of snow making and fresh snow should bring the upper runs into operation and hopefully the lower runs as well.
If you have lessons booked for the 20th or 21st December please ensure I have a phone number for you so that I can contact you on the Friday evening.
I would like to thank you for arranging ski lessons over half term my for my children Annabel and Jamie and also the Lakin family. The kids loved the lessons so please pass on a very big thank you to Will.
