 Another great day at Vail yesterday and another today at Breckenridge. A load of snow fell throughout the day so omens are good for tomorrow.  The lessons from the Ski Performance Breakthrough Clinic in Morzine seem to have been learned and I feel like I’ve been skiing really well. In particular, the bump skiing is better than ever. Thank you.

I am writing to provide you with comments for consideration for the next edition of your book. I have just come back from Val d'Isere where I arranged private lessons with BASS.
This was my wife's 7th ski trip and it promised to be her last because she has never taken to the sport. This was due to a number of factors, including an injury to her knee on her first holiday, a lack of confidence in her abilities and a high level of nervousness.
After a few hours private tuition with Steve Ricketts she has been transformed. Although still limited to blue and green runs, she is now skiing with competence and confidence. Most importantly, she has learned to enjoy the sport. Myself and my 13 year old son had 2-2-1 lessons and we both improved. My son managed to make the transition to skiing like an adult. The impressive thing was the patience of the instructor and the use of a wide range of simple to follow technical exercises which he went through until he found the one that worked.
These were the best lessons any of us have had. I learned a long time ago that group lessons can only take your development so far and this company cannot come with any higher recommendation.

"The service that I received from BASS was truly exceptional. From my first enquiries to my last lesson they were absolutely fantastic. I enquired with all the big ski schools in Courchevel but none of them were as helpful and as reasonable as BASS. I just wanted to thank you, Steve and Patrick for the most fantastic time last week.  So many things began to make sense for the first time (though I'm not sure Patrick or Steve saw any physical evidence of things making sense!) that I'm now desperately trying to work out how quickly I can get back and practice.

How do you have so much patience, I really felt I was going to hold everybody up, but you managed to keep us all together and build my confidence up, thankyou so very much.

Nicky is an accomplished skier whereas I have only managed a few years of gently turning down the less challenging slopes and suffering from out-of-control fear.

Learning with Helen was fantastic! She not only helped Nicky re-establish a lot of her earlier learned skills and finely tune her style but she had me enjoying running freely down any slope!

A tricky call for Helen when most of the time we were both wanting instruction together!

And it's great being instructed in English, you really understand what you are doing right and doing wrong!

We can only highly recommend Helen and the BASS team and we will certainly be back with her in the coming 08 season and look forward to taking our skiing to the next level.

We had a great holiday, and can I say how much we enjoyed the lessons from your guys. Patrick was great, as was Stuart. Both our boys really improved this holiday and they had fun whilst learning! The 2 instructors really had the right approach with youngsters. As I told you on the phone, I am a reluctant skier and had big confidence problems this trip, but Eddie and especially Simon were so kind and helpful, and I was glad I had that last lesson with Simon because he really helped me to rebuild my technique (such as it is!) so that I will ski next year with less trepidation! Thanks again for your flexible timetable with our family, we appreciated your suggestions. The boys come on so quickly, its hard to keep up!

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed my skiing lessons.  I had a great time and would love to have stayed a few more days but look forward to going back to Les Gets again.

Can I thank you and the BASS team for once again helping to make yet another great holiday in Les Gets, but how could we go wrong in the fantastic snow conditions! J*** had the skiing time of his life... His beaming face when he got the silver badge was a picture! And as usual it was great to catch up with Gordon, who sorted out the adults turns, everyone improving considerably after the lessons. Pressure is now on for when to return to Les Gets, with Easter being later next year, as I know from past experience you get booked up quickly!

We have just returned from our holiday in Les Gets and I wanted to write to say how pleased we were with BASS. We have had 2 previous disasters with local ski school in France and Austria and wanted to make sure we “got it right” this time. I am really writing to thank Nick for his superb instruction. My skiing has been transformed in only five hours of personal instruction! I hadn't had a lesson for more than twenty years and I can say confidently that he was superb, way above the standards of any previous instructors I have had. Nick explained the technical side brilliantly enabling me to fully understand the reasons behind his general instructions, the flow, the arc, the radius, the body stance, etc, etc.  I really felt that I have now got to grips with the basics of carving, both in large sweeping turns on blue runs and on shorter turns on steeper red bumpy runs.  He also made the lessons great fun.

Dear Les I don't know how you did it but I have finally got "un stuck" I have been in a rut for years and your teaching has finally moved me on. Thankyou so much and hope to see you next year.

Jackie and I have just returned from the fabulous experience of a first time skiing holiday. Our luck started by picking Chamonix as the resort to go to, knowing very little about ski resorts little did we realise how magnificent the scenery was. Our second stroke of luck was to pick your ski school for our lessons.

Our skiing in Val d'Isere was great this year - pls pass on our thanks to Patrick and Steve.  The boys are still talking about their adventures with Steve - a huge hit, thank you. When you start looking at reservations for next year, pls can you book us in!

As a senior citizen, first time skier, Ricey was particularly patient with me. He was very supportive and helpful and made my first experience a most enjoyable one.  His enthusiasm rubbed off on the whole group.

Richard and I have just returned from Chamonix. We requested two lessons from your company and were given Alison as our instructor. I just wanted to email you and say how wonderful she was. She was patient and understanding and an excellent instructor. I wasn't too confident myself but she never made me feel silly or incompetent, she just encouraged and helped. My husband was a better and more confident skier and she gave him the most professional instruction and he came away having had a super time.

I have just returned from Les Gets where I had some beginner’s lessons with Gordon Howe.  I just wanted to say a big thank you to Gordon, he is an excellent instructor who put me at ease, helped me get to grips with the basics and really increased my confidence.

"Vittorio was an excellent teacher but equally as importantly he was also great company. One of the first things he did was to remind me to relax again whilst skiing and his input and examples made my short turns much more dynamic. He also reminded me to adapt my stance on piste to the type of turn, speed and terrain resulting in greater versatility and increased stability at higher speeds. He was always clear in his explanations and willing to spend time discussing points. For each exercise he had a plan about what he wanted me to do and how to get me to do it; the mark of a good instructor. Thank you for some great lessons.

I really think it is testament to your school that two 15 year olds are still keen to be in lessons for five mornings.  All the children had a great time including Kate who went into a lesson without knowing anyone at the start.
