LES GETS - INSTRUCTORS
Gordon HOWE
BASI ISTD International Ski Teacher Diploma.
I started skiing in 1979.
I have worked for 13 years with BASS and 13 years in Les Gets.

I Started skiing in 1977 in Scotland and discovered the Alps in 1980.
After working for 5 years in Glasgow as a podiatrist and only being able to ski weekends
it was clear to me it was time for a change of direction......

I have been teaching skiing for 25 seasons in Andorra, Scotland, Italy, Switzerland, England and Australia

My main interests out with skiing are golf (not quite as well as I'd like), my family, pretty much anything outdoor and music.

Duncan FRESHWATER
BASI ISTD International Ski Teacher Diploma.
BASI Trainer.

Duncan was appointed Performance Director of Snowsports GB in April 2008.
This means that he is very busy coordinating all the GB race team programmes, but we still hope to see him in his BASS Les Gets role, from time to time.

I started skiing on my parents drive in the Spey Valley when I was 4 with walking boots/wellie boots ‘tied’ onto skis that had been snapped/cut in half. Needless to say with the string going under the ski there was little of the sliding sensation.

I have been involved with BASS Les Gets for one year full time and one in peak season.

I am a former Snowsports Scotland Performance Director and British Alpine Ski Team Ladies Coach

Interests? Specialities? In skiing I love the competition side, and specialise in the coaching of young athletes.
Outside of skiing I love travelling, walking, kayaking, windsurfing, and the world renowned sport of shinty.
