We thought you might like a few handy hints to help make your holiday as stress free and enjoyable as possible because resorts in February are very busy.
Getting to your BASS Les Gets Lessons
The meeting instructions for your lessons will be sent to you by email a few days before the first session. Make sure you know the name of the instructor that you are looking for so you can find them easily.
The BASS Les Gets meeting point is at the top of the Chavannes red gondola, next to the Yeti Café. Your teachers will be waiting for you between the café and the La Croix chairlift.
The Gondola opens at 09.00 and there will be queues so please get there early to be ahead of ski school lines that meet at the bottom at 9 o’clock.
Competent skiers can also use the Express Chavannes chairlift, which also opens at 9.00 and drops you above the ski school meeting point. Then ski down the blue run which does get steep towards the bottom.
There is also an option to avoid the queues and drive to the top of the Chavannes gondola where parking is free of charge. Be aware that this area gets very busy by late morning but it’s ideal if you have 09.15 lessons.
What if You’re Running Late?
Don’t worry, we’re not like Easyjet with an ‘if you’re late, we won’t wait’ policy. We understand it can be tricky getting organised, especially on the first day.
However, if you are joining a group lesson, we will have other skiers, itching to get started.
So, if you think you are running late, call the BASS office, [0033 (0)450 747859], and we will make sure the teachers know that you are on your way.
If you’ve not arrived on time, the teacher may take the group for a short warm up run but will then pass by the meeting point to collect you. Please be patient as this could take a few minutes.
End of Lessons
For parents with children skiing with BASS, we think it’s really important for us to tell you about what they have been learning, what to practice and generally update you about your child’s progress. The junior groups will be at the meeting point 5 minutes before the lesson end time for us to be able to do this.
It’s also very reassuring for children to see their Mum or Dad waiting for them at the end of their lesson.
Again, if you are running late, please let the BASS office know so that we can reassure your children.
And finally, here’s a link to the Les Gets ski area map, which will be helpful if you’ve not visited the area before.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
