Set over 10 weeks, the training includes the BASI Trainee Instructor 5 day course, 5 days performance training, 4 weeks structured training and development, 2 weeks shadowing coming to a conclusion with the BASI Instructor Training 2 week course.
Entry Requirements:
The BASI Ski Instructor qualification is a professional qualification that is recognised around the world. It requires high levels of technical performance, technical knowledge as well as communication and teaching skills.
It is impossible for the depth of experience, skill and knowledge required to qualify at this level to be gained soley from the 10 week course. For candidates to benefit from this course and be successful it is recommended that they already:
- are able to ski parallel confidently, coping with varied conditions and have completed at least 16 weeks on snow.
- are able to ski parallel confidently on all slopes, making rhythmical linked short turns close to the fall line at a steady pace.
- are able to ski in control in easy off piste and bumps.
- have an understanding of client care.
