Steve Ricketts - Ski School Director
I started skiing in 1976 and have been ski teaching all over the world since 1986.

Founded BASS Val d’Isere & Tignes in 2002.

I have been in Tignes Val d'Isère for 5 successful seasons and going strong.

I’m an Alpine Trainer for BASI, IASI Trainer and Race Coach CSCF level 2 with 21 years teaching experience.

I have varied interests from rugby to fine art.

Nick Quinn
I started skiing at 15 years old.

My First full time season was 06/07.

I Came in Val d'Isère - Tignes in 2000 and loved it so much that I changed my career.

I spent 3 years in the fire service and loved it but left for the draw of the mountains.
I was involved with the national body for ski instructors for 18 months before moving to Tignes to teach with BASS.

Interests: Skiing, squash, fitness
Specialties: Bangers mash and beans!!

Stuart Bernard
I've been skiing since the age of 4, and began my teaching career at 16.

I have specialised as a race coach and hold the “International Ski Teacher Diploma” and “Alpine Performance Coach” Level 2.
In addition, I am now also a tutor and qualifier of ski instructors for BASI.

Interests? Skiing, teaching and race coaching for all levels.

I’m also a tutor and qualifier of ski instructors for BASI.

Eddy Kirk
I started skiing in the early 1960's at age of six.

I have worked with BASS Val D'Isere (on a part time basis) since their first year of operation.

I started in 1976 (when I did my BASI grade 3). I did 5 seasons In Italy (and did my Grade 2 (ISIA) in 1982) I followed by two more seasons in Scotland. I’ve run Alpine Snowsports in Aldershot since then (and am still there, running the show in the summer).

Qualifications: BASI 1 in 1986. ISTD in 2000. Tutor for BASI. CSCF level 2.

Interests? Family, Golf (when I get the chance)

Specialties? Delivering training to dry slope instructors.

Patrick Wright
I started as a child on rope tows in the Lake district.

I am a crucial part of the team since the start.

I’ve been a ski teacher since 1986, and I’m a BASI ISTD & CSCF level 2.

Interests? Surfing and the Dublin night lift.

Dario Bimbi
I started skiing when I was 4 in Pian del Cansiglio.

This will be my third season in Val d'Isère, and my first with BASS...a new experience!

I got my Italian Ski Instructor Diploma in December 2004 and I am part of the COLLEGIO MAESTRI DI SCI REGIONE LOMBARDIA.
Before arriving in Val I worked in Bormio (Italy) and also in Cervinia-Zermatt, Sestriere-Via Lattea, Adamello ski area, La Thuile, Gressoney, Les deux Alpes glacier etc.

Qualifications:
  • December 2004 - Italian Ski instructor Diploma,ISIA
  • June 2005 - Alpine ski trainer Diploma
  • November 2006 - Ski school director Diploma
  • Snowboard Instructor Course.
  • Carte Professionelle francaise.

Interests? I am spending all my free hours doing off-piste and getting into tricks in the park but.. as I come from racing ...reminding me of the past, I need to get back into it! :)

Started skiing in Norway at 3, being dragged up crazy hills on slippy cross country skis, before joining alpine-after-school club at 7.

Original partner from the startup in 2002 with Steve.

I have been in ‘Val & Tignes’ for 5 fun and eventful seasons so far.

Simon Wilkinson - ski school coordinator
I began skiing at the age of four with my family in La Plagne.

This is my first season with BASS where I operate as Ski School Coordinator.

I took the post of Race Captain followed by Chairman in 2003 at Sheffield Hallam University. I have since spent the last two years at the grass (dendix!) roots of the sport coaching the Aldershot Ski Race Club in the UK, while furthering my academic studies.
