The alps do get a lot colder than the UK hence the great snow and long season. This has an impact on your vehicle so here are some recommendations:Diesel - can freeze particularly overnight when temperatures drop regularly to below – 15 degrees centigrade. Therefore when you get to the alps make sure that you put some winter diesel in your fuel tank. Note supermarket diesel whilst cheaper is not winter diesel and will freeze. The local service staions will sell winter diesel (Gazole Hiver)Screenwash – again most screen wash in the UK is good down to -10 degrees centigrade be prepared for –20 degrees. Top up with some stronger stuff on the way across France.
Dear Peter, Just to say that our instructor, Matt, was absolutely brilliant. He was very professional and friendly, challenged us exactly the right amount and was an excellent guide of the mountains. It was definitely the best decision we made on our holiday to book lessons. We all progressed a huge amount without losing our confidence. The recommendation of which ski hire shop to use was also great, making picking up our skis in the morning really easy. Please thank Matt for a job really well done. Hopefully we will be back next year! Also just I say Matt Kerswell who added an extra lesson will pay online soon. Cheers, Tessa
