Last winter we revealed the new Volkl Deacon ski as part of our continued partnership with Volkl, Marker & Dalbello. BASS was selected to part of a small team around the world to be part of the ‘What the Ski?’ campaign to launch this exciting new line of all mountain skis.
The first pair of Deacons has arrived at the BASS office, ready for winter 2019 and we are excited all over again!
Taking care of your equipment will pay dividends when you hit the snow this winter and now is the time to get your skis to your local retailer for a service as well as a binding safety check.
A regular ski service should:
Edges – the edges will have any rough bits smoothed off and then be sharpened to make sure they grip effectively and easily.
Base – waxing the base keeps them in good condition and helps the skis glide smoothly in all snow conditions. Ask for a universal wax that should work in all temperatures that you might experience on holiday.
Bindings – ask the retailer to check that your bindings are fitted and working properly. Specialist ski retailers are qualified to check the safety of your equipment so it’s well worth the spend. Don’t forget, they will need your ski boots too.
